Drug/Alcohol Policy

 

Student-athletes shall not illegally possess, use, attempt to obtain or distribute any narcotic drug, hallucinogenic drug, amphetamine, barbiturate, marijuana, steroids, or other illegal performance enhancing substance of any kind (unless prescribed by a physician).  Student-athletes shall not illegally possess, use, attempt to obtain or distribute any type of alcoholic beverage including but not limited to beer, wine, and hard liquor.  Student-athletes shall not provide and/or encourage such substance abuse to other students/athletes.  There is no minimum amount of substance to warrant an offense.  This policy pertains to substance abuse both on and off OHC event premises during hockey season, as well as OHC event premises during the off-season.  The hockey season is considered to include the date of the August general membership meeting through the year-end banquet.
 
A student-athlete finding them self in close proximity to someone violating this policy should remove them self immediately from the area; else, association with the offensive conduct may be deemed a like violation.

Student-athletes suspected of violating this policy may be required to produce a satisfactory drug test at the player’s expense.

Student-athletes violating this policy may be suspended from all OHC games, practices, and activities for 365 days.

Disciplinary action related to violation of this policy will be at the sole discretion of the OHC Board of Directors and coaching staff.
