Oakville Hockey Club (OHC)
Player Code of Conduct

Players are expected to know and understand ZERO TOLERANCE!

  • All players, JVD through Varsity, will be expected to follow all USA Hockey, MSCHA rules as well as Oakville Hockey Club's by-laws and policies.  If there is a conflict between OHC by-laws and policies and USA Hockey/MSCHA rules, the latter will take precedence.
  • Players are expected to contact coaches if they are to be absent from a game or practice.
  • Unexcused absences from practices or games, or misconduct at practices or games can result in a game suspension at the discretion of the coach.
  • There will be no stick throwing, stick banging, or profanity by players or coaches during a game. Coaches will be allowed to dismiss immediately from the game any player using foul or abusive language, or who carelessly lashes out with a skate blade or stick in an attempt to injure another player of official.
  • Coaches will be allowed to dismiss from the game any player for any of the following:  

           1. Hitting after play has been officially stopped
           2. Flagrant violations of rules on boarding, crosschecking, charging, high sticking, etc. 
           3. Any player who exceeds three penalties per game that the coach feels are deliberate.

  • Absolutely no fighting will be tolerated.
  • For every game suspension incurred under the auspices of Mid-States Hockey, the club may asses an additional game suspension.
  • Deliberate intent to injure another player during games or practices could result in immediate expulsion from the team.
  • All players are bound by OHC's Drug & Alcohol policy.
  • Abuse of the by-laws and policies of OHC could result in the players being dropped from the team.
  • Players suspended or removed from the team for violation of team by-laws and policies, or league rules shall not be entitled to any refund or fees paid.
  • The Board of Directors will support the coach’s decision when the Club by-laws and policies are properly followed.
